Junwon Yang’s Emergency Flashlight is designed to illuminate both the path in front of you and the one that you are walking on. To do this, the torch has lamps at both the ends of the shaft. However the one pointing to the floor is angled at 45 degrees; so if you have people following your lead, they can see where they are stepping. I think it’s a clever design for areas where it’s going to be pitch dark and as long as it isn’t a battery-drainer.
