在2006年的2月8号,属于UPS的一架货机带有八个机组人员,紧急迫降在费城机场,原因是笔记本的锂电池着火,当时的事故造成了大量的货物被烧毁,三个机组人员烧伤。经过这次的事件,美国开始收紧了对于锂电池快递空运业务的法律。为了更大程度的确认乘客和机组人员的安全。据不完全统计,从1991年以来,美国至少有60起因为锂电池着火的事件。所以有了联合国发布的UN38.3法规。 On 8th Feb 2006, a cargo aircraft with 8 aircrew, which belong to UPS, forced to make an emergency landing in Philadelphia international Airport.The reason was the lithium battery of laptop caught fire. It caused a serious accident. A majority of goods had been burned and 3 aircrew injured. According to incomplete statistics, more than 60 fire incidents by lithium battery had been experienced in the US since 1991.

At temperature of +55C, apply short circuit(<0.1 ohm) across terminals. Maintain at least an hour after sample temperature returns to +55 +/-2°C.
Pass criteria are: Case temperature does not exceed +170°C and no disassembly, rupture, or fire within 6hours of test. 大致意思就是,在55°C的环境下,将电池短路1个小时,直到温度维持在55°C上下2°C。通过的标准后峰值温度不能超过170°C,在测试后的6小时以内电池不能解体不能破裂更不能着火。这样测试才能得到通过。
