A series of dismantled old ski gondolas from Verbier, Switzerland have been revisited by some of Switzerland’s most acknowledged designers and artists for ‘Verbier Mountain Climbers: Revisiting a Swiss Icon’, a Swiss cultural and entrepreneurial project for charity.

Celebrating this Swiss icon of industrial design and ski tourism, the Verbier Mountain Climbers recently premiered at Design/Miami Basel 2013. The travelling exhibition will then be shown in Verbier and Geneva and eventually be sold at auction by Christies to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Switzerland. The series includes works by: Adrien Rovero, Anoush Abrar, Atelier O, ECAL / Baker Wardlaw Yves Décoppet, Jrg Boner + Lela Scherrer, Nicolas Le Moigne and Philippe Cramer.

All the sales proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation of Switzerland, which grants wishes of children living a life-threatening illness.
